All the rich people in my social circle are corrupt except for maybe 3 families that I hang out with - and maybe half a dozen or two that I don’t hang out with. The bible says you cannot serve both money and God but I never understood that because without money you can’t buy food or shelter.
If you get everything always, then you will always expect everything. This expectation will lead to violence when confronted with disappointment. Little kids will demonstrate loudly the first time a parent says no. The reaction will be long-lasting and unpleasant for anyone who reaches adulthood until they are denied. This is simplistic, I know, but it is at the heart of it. Anyone who becomes a little god over their world instead of a person in the world will not allow their will to be opposed by anything. Little gods will do anything to make sure that this doesn't happen.
