The memory above 🎞 was obviously a short lived moment, but I remember the euphoria like it was yesteryear.

Another favorite memory I have, just to keep it short for you guys, was just any time we’d all go to Central Park (any time of day), or another park, late at night. Central Park, when everything is in full bloom and the fountains are on, is just so beautiful. ⛲️ 🌳 🌷 🦋 🎶 🦢

Well there are many. Since my wonderful mom passed on earlier this year, most of my childhood memories have to do with how lucky I was to have a mom like her.

Okay this is just too special. I tell you we’re lucky to even read this and for you to share this with us. I know these are all special memories we have and share and this is personal stuff that I honestly consider lucky to read ANY ONE of them?

But this memory is just sacred.

We all can relate to this the solemness. The gratitude. The ability to cherish!

And so appropriate for this season. That we all remind ourselves of how luck we were to experience these things AT ALL. Sole things we experience that others may never even KNOW.

This resonated with me, and I thank you for it.

I hope only the warmest and best memories come to mind when you remember and reflect,

And I truly hope you’ll have a wonderful new year with new memories and a new outlook and gratitude on life.

Thank you so much. One of my earliest childhood memories was when I was of the age where I might have needed a stroller, or I might have walked. My mom didn't drive yet, and she had to go to the post office. It was a mile away. I remember being strolled there part way, and walking part way. Two miles round trip.

And fast forward to my mom's elderly years. I remember she told me she was hungry for ice cream and she took out her walker and walked to an ice cream shop way too far away for her to go to, but she did it.

She’s a strong breed. I know her behavior and genes live on in you. I always love the kind of people who can walk their walk and talk their talk 😁💪

Thank you. She really was a strong breed. There must be a "walking" gene on her side. I had a cousin on her side who would take 600 mile hikes. I am an active hiker, and I walk a lot anyway. She liked to get out and walk more so than most.

Soccer but we lost in the second round of what we called then the regional which involved 10 states at that time. I did not go to public school but these schools drew many collegiate players and State University to Ivy League students. Some of these well known institutions were 2000 students and no football team... There was no choice as it was basketball, tennis, lacrosse, or European football.

I had quite a few when I was a high school teen, but that really doesn't count as "childhood".

So, I will go further back... to late June or early July 1967 and the day of my sister's christening (aka baptism). She was about 1 month old. I was about 4.5 y old.

At my house, EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE THAT I KNEW was there. I was 4, I was loved, and every adult I knew was there and we were all happy and I loved them all being the little boy that I was. In no small way, this was Heaven on Earth for me. Sadly, at 39, my uncle died within 2 weeks at Expo 67 in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

I wanted to make this Mho! I could relate to the whole vibe of a hugeee family gathering. Everyone together and the world was perfect safe and fun 😁😊

You can still keep the family together even if once a year. Making new memories is just as essential as cherishing the old special ones 😊👐

When I was in kindergarten, a kid took my ball without permission. I told him to give it back to me, but he refused me, insisting on making the mistake of his life. Then I took the ball from him, dipped it in dog poop in the backyard, and threw it at him. It's a great memory.

I wanted to make this Mho!! I loved how you were empowered and didn’t really take no for an answer! I remember also pushing a boy who had touched me the wrong way in school. I told him twice nicely to stop- he didn’t listen! And wham! Pushed him to the ground 😂 that once incident bonded me my friend and a few of the chill boys in our class. We all laughed about it and eventually played with that boy who did a boo boo 😂. School days right? Such a wild time 😂😂

When he returned to the classroom in his shit-smelling T-shirt and pieces of shit, all the students had run away from him like the plague ahahhhah..

It's too late when they learned that they shouldn't mess with girls like you and me.

I totally get that vibe lol my sister could get a whole sandwich, iced tea, bag of chips, cookie or candy for a sweet- all of that for like 1.25, or something. It was ridiculous how cheap everything was at that corner store. I get happy just when I have a McDonald’s McChicken all for a dollar, basically. I’m like: “no wayyy a whole sandwich for a dollar?”

Playing "Jurassic Park" with my grandfather as a little boy. We'd grab a bunch of logs, moss, and limbs, then set up my dinosaur figures.

Grandpa has been dead for 7 years now...

The only regret is not taking pictures amirite! That sounds like you had a great grandpa. One of the world's greatest if he spend time with you in such a fun and personal way.

I remember in the summer going to see my grandparents in Pennsylvania for a week. One day we would all go to Hersheypark. We'd get up early and spend the whole day there. My grandmother used to make the best coleslaw from scratch.

OMG I WAS GOING TO SAY THIS AND ADD IT TO THE CENTRAL PARK MEMORY. I almost died and went head on, with a pick up truck 🛻 and I was on a scooter. One lane. He was going up. Didn’t stop. Didn’t reverse. Going up, and I couldn’t stop. I pressed the breaks lightly and it got hot and I saw sparks fly out. I looked and saw a mini opening on the side just enough for a person to stand with their one foot in front of the other just as I was, and I skidded down. Was heck of s take, but I used to love doing that… prior to the near-fatal accident 😂

Did you have any near-death experiences with those hills and traffic? 😱👀

goin fishing with my father and brother.

Such a bond! Great way to just chat and feel it out what each was like. Solidified by chum, glued together by water, and held together by fish lines. Memories deluxe. I always had fun watching my nephew fish. Was too bored and impatient and a bit too sentimental to even get a worm on the hook. I hold worms but I couldn’t lol the pop and the juice awh god lmao

But once I’ll share our favorite catch was when he found a fish that was just sitting facing the Hook and bait. He would let it sit and I told him this fish is smart lol I told him that fish wasn’t impulsive or terribly hungry, which was why it was so big and lived quite a bit. Told him to make it seem like the bait was getting away but do it in a darting motion and then let it stay still. He listened and we both wanted that fish and we did get it BUT the line snapped! Was the biggest he ever got and I knew he’d remember that fish type later on. Such a great day that was. Do you remember any prize catches? Or did you use any cleverly or just super lucky bait to get fish?

There was one day that we tied up tp some herring nets that were out in the channel. There were schools of herring within the nets. My father was kneeling on the bow of the boat throwing a spear down when he would see a school swim by, hauling in two or three herring at a time while my brother and I were casting for cod and haddock, pulling them in as fast as we could take the hook out of them. We had so many fish we had to go back because there was no more room to put them.

Wow! What a magnificent catch! So I guess you did eat all of those? Spear fishing? Your dad must’ve been super cool! What kind of spear do you remember? Or no 👀

The spear was a broom handle that had a 4 pronged spear head attached to the front of it. There was a hole drilled through the end and a piece of dogfish line was attached to it. You threw the spear down into the water and hauled it back up to see herring flipping around when you pulled it back up. We ate some of the fish, some we gave away, ironically we gave some away to my future wife's grandparents.

Aweeee that’s so wholesome! They say there are plenty of fish in the sea, but no one talks about how a small world can mean a small pond too. Sometimes w Edmonton really notice the other fish that stick around and swim by. Truly great! And love the broom idea! Your dad was nicely innovative! May try that or run it by my nephew and see if he’d like to give it a go!

I guess Florida would be better. I liked lake beaches because when you grow up having Coney Island as a beach- sand full of glass, cigarette butts, trash, diapers, weaves, hair ties, and etc. you kind of appreciate actually being able to SEE the beach lol
