Dating your Step Siblings... Is it Wrong?

This relationships is seen as normal to some. Taboo to others. But mostly it has negative stigma. My question is.. Why?

The idea of dating your step brother or sister gets a bad wrap because of the "Brother/Sister" part. Which makes sense. Since incest is not good for genes and is pretty weird. But they disregard the importance of the "Step" part.

This is the scenario I put to you. Your 16. You meet a guy who's say 17 or 18. Around your age. You hit it off. Like eachother and begin dating. While this happens your parents. Both separate parents are having martial problems and divorce. Then after a year of dating your father gets with a new woman... The guy your dating mom. They get married. Now you technically "brother and sister" but step brother and sister. So why is it at all fair to break up just cause your parents want to marry. Why can't both be happy.

The only exception I have is for kids aged like 2 or 3 and raised from almost birth to adulthood as step siblings. Since the brother sister bond has been formed more than it can with someone in 16s or older.

What is your view on it?

In the situation you presented I think it would be okay. I mean technically relations between step siblings would never actually be incest, but it would be weird if they lived together their whole lives and then started getting it on when they're older. You're right it wouldn't be fair to the dating couple to break up if their parents got married, it would just be weird with the whole step siblings thing.

I agree. That's why I started if raised from like childhood as step brother and sister. Than it would be maybe not legally. But morally odd

The parents marrying would make it morally odd, but it would be unfair to the kids who found love to break up just because their parents fall in love too. Definitely a moral grey area but I see nothing wrong in that particular situation.

Okay so you met and started dating before your parents got married, you're both old enough to live on your own, I'm sure that even the law has some exception to this. Go for it, you aren't blood and you weren't raised together.

Try watching "Flowers in the Attic" where Incest was at its best and bros and sis were marrying.

These relationships won't work if there's a body bond. So like incest, if you share either parent it's taboo. It is in my culture. I think it's only allowed if it's a completely separate set of birth parents

So a cousin removed from your generation is ok, but basically if your parents know the family member from birth and has shared a household with them. To me it's taboo.

So step-siblings are ok because you don't share a body bond. The sibling has different birth parents from you

Your step parents made a marriage/life commitment to each other, you are now family. That should be respected and not be complicated unless you feel in love with this other person first and everyone knew.

The youngers' rights are the older rights in this case.
If the situation generates negative legal consequences, they would have been generated by the parents' actions.

You should tell your dad/mom not to marry your boyfriend's mom/dad cause you love him or if they are married then you should stop thinking about your new step brother or step sister and find someone else.

Nothing wrong with it. I wouldn't like to be in that situation purely because of other peoples B/S opinions but I don't see any problem with it otherwise.

So say for example you dating a guy for 3 years. And your mother or father break up and one marries the guy your dating mother. Would you break off your 3 year relationship? All that care and love is now Sick and disgusting cause of some papers saying your parents are married.

What I said makes sense. I don't know where you confused. Step Siblings are different from Blood related siblings. They people you don't know or weren't raised with. But become part of your family cause parents remarry and the new mom or dad already had kids of their own
