That is not all that uncommon. Some men, especially if uneducated or have a low IQ feel that accepting help is admitting that they are inferior to those offering to help. Therefore, their pride will not allow them to accept help.
It's a guy thing. We arn't used to ask or be offered help without the expectation of offering somthing in turn. It's emasculating and embarrasing for males to not be able to do somthing or at least have somthing to offer in turn.
It's a man thing; a man is supposed to be able to change his own tire. I kind of bought into that at one time, but now that cars come with shitty little jacks that endanger your life, I call the auto club. Changed enough tires for one lifetime.
What man can’t change a flat? Probably is what he was thinking.

because you questioned and insulted his manhood especially in front of another guy. it made him feel like he wasn't man enough to do a basic tire change

you really screwed up on this one. changing a tire is what men do. like cooking and cleaning are suppose to be women's work. gender roles. it dates back to the stone ages prehistoric shit where men were suppose to be the protectors and providers hunting and gathering and women were suppose to sit in their cave cooking and cleaning and tiding up the cave and taking care of the little ones while the guy goes off and beats up a giant dinosaur and brings it back home for food. same thing applies here for the tire. it goes flat the guy changes the tire. it's a boy's right of passage into manhood. like the jews and their barmitzfahs same shit different customs or ways of doing it. right of passage and manhood thing and you fucked up bad

It's for the guy to decide when and if he needs help... not the woman sitting on her azz thinking that she's some kind of job site supervisor.
This is why I personally order to date traditional guys whose first concern and safety is women. Find a new boyfriend ASAP.
Lack of experiences: TURN OFF or prideful.

They aren't mutually exclusive. It can be a man's 'thing' and a man can have roadside assistance do it for him too.
Men can be like that... old or young, they always know everything and can never be wrong :'D
One of the hardest lessons in life i had to learn was asking for help in my twenties. I was stoically independent.
Maybe its just natural.
Ego... What you don't do is get into a stranger's car. And make sure you have your gun on you at all times.
it takes some time to grow up... but if he accepted the help anyway, that's a step forward
Changing a tyre is a one-man-job.
Sometimes it's just a little harder.
He is possessive of you and doesn't want other men doing anything for you
It's a male ego thing. He wanted to be the one to protect and provide for you.
It’s a pride thing, I could understand that, it’s like guys don’t want to ask for directions, same thing
Because it is the defined role of his gender, he 'should' have been able to do it and he couldn't.
That's the manly way to go about it, and he was probably trying to impress you too.

He just doesn't want either you or anyone else to think he is dumb or useless so he just wanted to do it himself.
Lacks self confidence. Too bad he’s an ass about it.
You're consistent, I'll give you that. All your boyfriend's seem to be the same type. LOL
He was probably embarrassed that he couldn't change it himself but wanted to try to.
