Would it be okay for you if your girlfriend or wife to do the same while you stay home and clean or watch the kids.

Hell yes. My wife has friends. Sometimes the girls like to get together to talk and have fun without guys around, because guys add a different dynamic.

My wife is a busy girl. She engages in lots of activities, and there are some that I don't care to participate in. She doesn't want to tag along on everything that I do, either. At the same time, there are plenty of things that we do as a couple. We have lots of fun together.

My wife and I will tell each other where we are going and later share what we did. But we don't have to watch each other 24/7. That would be claustrophobic and be an indication of distrust. Besides, sometimes it's nice to have alone time when we are apart.

Marriage shouldn’t mean detachment from your friends. There are priorities, but just because you hung out with friends most of the time, doesn’t mean you can’t dedicate even a bit of time occasionally with friends.
