I guess it's something you could have in common with your so but not necessarily. I like that partners have different careers and different interests but still fit together somehow.
I’m so happy my wife isn’t in my industry… I talk shop 80hrs a week. When I’m home Incan turn it off, if she was in the industry it would literally NEVER end.
As long as we can have mitual conversations and have mutual understanding, I dont really care what they do. That said, there is a higher chance of tgat if they work in a STEM job.
@OlderAndWiser I got to undergraduates it took me five years and then graduated law school the year I turned 26. I am. Unless he blew through undergrad and hurried through law school, he seems a bit young. Not that it really matters regarding the question he is answering.
@OlderAndWiser Totally agree! No bar exam is simple. If your undergraduate degree is in adiscipline that would allow you to sit for the patent law bar, that’s even harder.
My law firm has had associates lose their jobs because they didn’t pass the bar. I hear New York State and Illinois are among the toughest. I am admitted in two states in the southwest of the United States.
@OlderAndWiser I've taken my professional responsibility class, my friend. I'm not representing myself as anything, lol. Also, lawyer is just a generic term used for anyone with a legal education, not the same as an attorney.
Prefer jobless. Then we never talk about work and home can be a truly safe and relaxing place. I don't know how y'all talk shop in the home. Id go fucking crazy.
I don’t care, I’m studying criminal justice and stocks and my girlfriend is studying English, I plan on becoming a lawyer and she plans on becoming a teacher
No, actually this is the 70-30 ratio I think is apt. Couples should have only 70% in common. And different fields would be a good thing to keep separate. Although some romances start at work.

I am glad that my girlfriend and I have different jobs/careers because it brings different veiws of people and the world from a job standpoint.
I want them to have a career that is rewarding and engaging to them.
Doesn't have to be my field.
If they enjoy what they do, I'm happy.

We don’t live to work, we work to live.
Honestly it really wouldn't matter to me either way, as long as we didn't work in the same office or for the same company.
Being self-wmemployed probably not, having a useable credit rating might be worth something

No it does't matter to me. I could use some career advice sometimes, but it's not so important.
No. I'm a lawyer, but I'd like to have a housewife, at least after the kids are born.
How long have you been practicing law?
@OlderAndWiser his age seems a bit young for that. I would know.🤣
@Emiliamazing Are you a practicing attorney?

*2 undergraduate degrees
@OlderAndWiser Nope. 2L J. D. - heading into my summer associate position.
Enjoy your second year young man. Line yourself up for a good summer clerkship!
Okay, but don't represent yourself as an attorney until you pass your bar exam and are sworn into the bar on your jurisdiction.

Depends where you are though. In the UK a law degree is only 3 years then another 1.5-2 to qualify but until then you can still be a trainee

I would prefer if they didn't a woman wouldn't be happy doing my kind of work.
No- she can't give a massage longer than about 5 minutes.
I'd want me and my future wife to run a home business together.
NO I would prefer to have separate paths doing something we both enjoy doing though
Kinda yes, at least someone who can understand the nature of my job
If that is what she wants to do, certainly. She's smart enough to do whatever it is she wants to do in life.
No she can do whatever she wants as long as it’s good moral values
Not really. As long as we dont work in the same place Im fine with it
