Guys, If you had a great partner, would you get rid of your pet if?

If your great partner was allergic to your pet or if they disliked pets in general? By great partner I mean she is very compatible with you and she meets all your dating standards besides the pet standards.

Oh yeah and your partner is going to break up with you if you refuse to get rid of your pet so by keeping your pet you'll lose your lover, but it's going to be a peaceful mature break up she's compatible with you after all.

DISCLAIMER: by get rid of your pet I mean send your pet for adoption or give it to a friend or someone who you know will care for it well.

I would get rid of my pet for both or one of those reasons that you mentioned.

If they were allergic, then that's fine - if they aren't a big fan of them but still treat them fairly and nicely, then that's okay.

I'm not as close to pets as others are, although it's probably because I got a cat and not a dog, but I'd want to give it to someone who can take care of it well and lives close by.

The perfect partner would still allow me to see it and all and I'd move in with them, as they'd be very wealthy and my pet would stay with my family.

I would get rid of the pet if my partner was allergic, but not just because she disliked the pet. My then-wife was allergic to cats, and I got rid of the cat to support her. It was an older cat that didn't do well around other people, and he was euthanized.

What kind commitment example does that demonstrate to someone, if you just up and let the pet go. Pets are a big commitment which I don't take lightly. Besides they maybe a great partner for now, but that doesn't mean they will be a year from now?

If she's allergic, then I guess she comes over and stays on the deck or takes something before she comes into the house. Either that or I buy some new clothes and leave them at her place and we spend most our time over there.

Which ever way works, but I am not getting rid of my pet, I just can't discard them like that.

Hopefully the person would be over to see your place. If he or she didn't like it the pet then maybe that person is not a good fit. Keep your pet.
