How do I get out of going to my boyfriend's home country for independence day or at the very least make the trip bearable?

A few weeks ago my boyfriend asked if I would like to go to his home country for independence day and like an idiot I said yes. The thing is everyone is either overbearingly nice, too nosy or subtly mean. And since it's independence day it's going to be loud, people are going to be dancing and celebrating, they would get overly affectionate with strangers they just met and I don't think I can handle that just yet. Plus I can't understand a word they say, my boyfriend would have to translate everything they say and it would get time consuming and I know that he wants to party with his family and me. I went there one time before and didn't like it that much, how do I make this bearable? I really don't want to just straight up not go since he's been looking forward to this for a while now.

Belize, but not the touristy parts that you would see in magazines or online, we're going down south to the Toldeo District for a few days then to Belize City.
