I saw a couple last week. The guy was handsome and well built. His wife had some problem with her legs (seems like permanent) and could not walk without his support. He was holding her hands and walking around a garden. It was so lovely to watch.

I'm honest in saying, I can't say for certain what I'd do. There are some who understandably get depressed and can't move forward in life due to their new circumstance, or they push away their partner because they don't want them to feel like they have to always take care of them and that makes it hard or impossible to maintain a healthy relationship with that person. There are also a million different factors that go into it like how mobile are they---there is a difference between legs paralyzed and paralyzed neck down and with a brain injury that you'd need to deal with. It's one of those things you hope would never happen, but if it did, you deal with it as it comes in your own way.

I would stay because he's my partner. All I can hope for is that his answer would be the same as mine. However, I've seen many posts on Reddit where men will leave their partners when certain things happen. (especially in cases where they would have to care for them)

I knew somebody who was a champion bodybuilder and he had just got his MBA, He had been married for about 6 months when he was hit by a car one night. He almost died and was in the hospital in a coma for weeks. He finally came out of it but he was paralyzed from the waist down. His wife dropped him like a bad habit. She told him that this was not what she signed up for.
