I met mine online. She lived about 8 miles from me, and she seemed like a nice girl at the time... until I realized she was a complete psycho! lol. We dated for 3 years, and one the day we were supposed to get married, she ran off to meet a guy in Indiana. Now, when I saw psycho, I mean criminally insane, as people used to call it. One time she chased me around the house with a knife with intentions to stab me and bury my body where no one would find it.
She claimed she was bi-polar, but I dated bi-polar girls before, and they didn't do half the stuff she did! lol. I admit, I'm a crazy writer who loves writing dark fantasy, but she makes my stories look like stories from the bible, lol.
Before that. my longest one was four months. I don't know why I can't hold onto a relationship. More than one girl has said, "We come from two separate worlds" or "I don't want to be tied down to one person my whole life",
I'm not possessive nor am I the jealous type. When I do have a girlfriend, I don't call and pester them every day, unless they ask me to. I give people space, and me being a writer, I prefer not to be around someone 24 hours a day. People can get on each other's nerves. Where I live now, it's kind of hard to find a decent girl because there's a lot of drug addicts around here whol will rob you blind.
I just told this story but I will do it again. I was planning on moving to Colorado maybe forever. I was going out there with another kid. I even helped him fix up his car so it would make the trip. I had impacted wisdom teeth and I wanted to get them out before I left. I had them removed in the hospital and it took a few days before the swelling went down. I called this kid to tell him I was good to go. His mother told me he left without me. I was angry but I was still in town to go to my family's vacation home on Memorial Day. I was cleaning up the yard when a group of 8 or 9 people walk by. My friend was with me and he started talking to them. I just kept working until I noticed a girl wearing cutoff jean shorts and worn out old sneakers. She had the prettiest smile I ever saw. I tried to talk to her but she totally shut me down. Later I went down to the beach and tried again and this time she told me that she just graduated from college and she lived near where I lived. She would not tell me her name because she didn't want anything to do with me. I ended up going to her college library and getting her yearbook. I went through the whole thing until I spotted her picture with that same smile. I got her name and was able to look her up in the phonebook (this was the 80's). She asked me how I tracked her down and I told her. She was actually impressed that I went through all that trouble. I asked her if she would go out with me and she said that she was starting a new job out of state and was leaving the next day. I chalked it up to my crappy luck and forgot about it. A month or so later I ran into her again at the beach and we spent a lot of time together and decided we would try to date each other. A year and a half later we got married.
Nice story to tell your grandchildren!
My current partner and I met on a dating site. Not tinder or bumble or any of the ‘popular’ apps, we used a site that’s specific to my country and not many people use it. Apparently I was the only woman who responded to his messages, and he’s the only man who wasn’t an absolute idiot in my DM’s lol!
I'm high-school. Very rare of a chance that we acutally met. I only had one shared class with him. Which was not a class we couldnt talk in cuz the teacher was strict af 😂

I had really nice girlfriends from the time I was 16. I didn't start thinking about finding a life-partner and settling down, though, until my early 30s.
When I was 36 I met a 30 year old. We wound up living together for over a year and she's the first woman I ever loved with all my heart. She loved me, too, but we were not destined to spend the rest of our lives together and separated for reasons that had nothing to do with cheating or anything mean. It's complicated.
Afterward, I was in more pain than I have ever felt in my life. It took me well over a year to pull myself together and move on with my life.
When I was 40, I enrolled in a pre-internet dating organization called Great Expectations. It was nothing like on-line dating. I went on several dates and then met my future wife.
We've been happily married now for going on 27 years.
Funny thing is, my wife was basically the school slut.
(My best friends younger sister). Everyone was sleeping with her. She was known for being easy. Not even kidding when I say half the guys in my class have had her in bed.
We always would make eye contact in school, when we crossed paths I was interested and so was she. Even when I would go over my friends house. Eventually it was my turn and we ended up hooking up.
I asked her if she wanted to go on a date sometime after.
I got made fun of for it, because the whole school ran through her.
but I snatched her up for myself. And kept her. There was genuine chemistry between us, I liked her, And we kinda grew feelings towards eachother. We are now married
Congrats well she was just looking for the right guy to date and went through a lot till she found her chemistry!
Her heart knew it was in that room just not who!
Feel like she was okay in bed going through the school but after you she was amazing for you!
I definitely do enjoy her in bed. We have some pretty nasty sex. Even still. And she gives amazing head. Swallows everything
In college. I had done the lighting design for Godspell and she was in an intro to theatre class that needed to do "production hours" as part of their grade. We spent the better part of a morning hanging lights all over scaffolding which was set up on the stage as part of the set, climbing all over it like a jungle gym. I didn't know it at the time, but she was so enamored with me that she skipped two classes to stay and "help" longer. She ended up signing up to be a followspot operator for the show, and the position her spotlight was in required the use of a harness... so one of my early interactions with her was helping her adjust her harness, which was quite an up close and personal process. By the end of the month we were dating, 4 years later we were married, and now 14 years after we met we're still together, raising a 5 year old kid.
Congrats thanks for sharing your story!
so, I marked work in your poll. . She was working and I happen to go in to the establishment. We got pretty chatty, and eventually I returned to her place of employment, and we started dating the next day
Congrats feel like I'm always slowly hearing more of your story!
What's funny, is her best friend was the one who prompted our first date. They both worked at the same establishment 😊
I met my boyfriend through university. We were coming out of the library. It was pouring raining. I didn't have an umbrella but he did and offered to share his with me. And the rest is history. We didn't immediately get together and it took 10 years to get to this point but we were always close friends before getting together.
my boss and her husband were trying to fix us up and i said no for over a year
What tmade you give in?
he came to one of my shows when we were in the middle of nowhere in West Virginia on Valentine's Day. He had to buy a $350 ticket to get in and waited almost 4 hours in the audience because no one would let him go backstage to see me. So I thought dinner and a movie wouldn't kill me...
she was a nurse i was a medic taking her in a patient
this other nurse had been trying to get me to date her, but i didn't like her. so when i was leaving she gave me her number on the back my late wife's number, called her 2 days later, we were married 37 years until she passed Feb19th 2018
That is a beautiful story, and I'm sorry for your loss ❤️
@butterly248 thank you , she was a beautiful Lady
❤️❤️❤️
College. I walked in late because I was lost and there was no seats free, he stood up, while I sat down I'm his chair. Been together for 6 years soon ❤️
one on a dating sight, not an app, and because I predate computers most of them the old-fashioned way.
Pure dumb luck.
In gradeschool actually and then actually met her again by chance years and years later.
He approached me while I was grocery shopping.
She was my roommate in college originally.
Feel like something changed it from roommates to dating! Anything special?
Just got to know each other and fell in love.
In a restaurant
I had a lunch break and was eating Spaghetti Bolognese
it was online but not really randomly lol
Really why not randomly they just want to know you more?
it was in times when there were not many places to meet online lol...
he worked in a company that created a chat; I was quite well known on this chat, and we started to talk... about people on the chat, bugs and problems, his work, us... I couldn't afford much internet... it was hella expensive at this time... so he asked for my phone number and called me every night... and it was our reality for four months...
and then he asked me if we could meet. He lived in a different city, not so close to me. We met... and we clicked again lol
so it wasn't really random. He was an admin, and I was the most well-known person there; we were fated to start speaking with each other. And it just evolved in 20+ years of marriage lol
I met my husband just before the start of senior year in high school.
I'm single now but with my longest, he was a customer at my work. I rung him up lol.
At the Strip club where I used to work
Congrats hope it works out! You will look great with a tan after the ship.
I was set up on a blind date
And your friend must be so happy with how it turned out!
