I am dreaming of the day when me and my boyfriend can finally close the distance between us. I hate only getting to see him once a month. It's so frustrating... sexually and mentally.

I wasn't sure how to interpret "close the distance". But if you'll forgive a sexual one, I was close friends with my wife for very close to an entire year before we started dating.

So when things came together on our date I was able to remove her clothes, I was excited in ways I never thought I ever could be since I never took that much time to remove a woman's clothes after hanging out.

It was like a year-long tease. And everything I saw, felt, smelled even if you'll forgive a crude thing, was so exciting. I was so excited. This took over a year to set up. And that I could see my former best friend in this new sexual way was one of the most exciting transitions I've ever experienced.

It's the best thing ever, and I think you should never forget it and you'll never lose interest in each other, even after grey hairs and all. I've been married for over 14 years now with my wife and we've been together even longer. We got married both close to 30 (she's only 4 months younger than me). And we've changed a bit physically.

We've both gotten a bit wider in mysterious ways absent any obvious gains in body fat. I think it looks good on us. Dark hairs become silver hairs. Temporary lines formed by laughter become permanent.

But I still see my wife each time and remember that first time. Not just that but all the years we've been together. Laughter over stupid things. Irritating each other. I remember the first time.

It truly is! I don't think I could ever forget that night. It was so romantic and one of the best nights of my life. The first time is definitely the most special time to always remember and cherish.

You messed something up with my flow. It's not about him. It's about you.

Debates are a dumb by the way between two parties if you didn't already know that. You probably did but just in case, debates are for judges. Two lawyers debating in a courtroom aren't trying to persuade each other, they're trying to persuade the judge. It's a miracle if they even like each other at the end.

So debates between two parties are stupid, counter-persuasive. This is one of the most valuable two-party communication things I ever learned my entire life. So I want to share it with you and your future husband if you didn't already know it.

But you be heard and understood. What's this with him being heard and understood? You be heard and understood. But don't try to prove him wrong. Just share what you're really feeling every time. Connect -- deeply. Mutual understanding. That's the thing.

Ok I can do that! And we don't really have arguments or debates really. We're usually always on one accord and if we're not we try to hear the other out. We definitely try to connect deeply and have a mutual understanding.
