Wiccan series (Part 2): The General Beliefs of Wicca

So we have already established who Wiccan's worship so if you want to know that part just look at part 1 of the Wiccan Series.

The majority of Wiccan's believe that the Divine can be found in nature. So nature should be honoured and respected. The plants, animals, soil, the elements, they are all considered to be sacred. Due to this you will find that many Wiccan's are very passionate about the environment.

We believe in a version of Karma. The threefold law. That whatever you put out into the world will come back to you in threefold. Different people interpret that law in different ways. Some believe that if you curse someone some 3 times as bad as what you cursed them with will happen to you. For me I believe that if I were to curse someone something of that same level would not only happen to me physically but something as bad would also happen to me mentally and spiritually. To tie in with this concept we have our version of the golden rule "an it harm none, do what ye will".

We also have a deep connection with our ancestors. The majority of us believe that we can connect to the spiritual world, we also feel as though our ancestors watch over us and give us advice all our life.

Wiccan's also believe in Magick, ever Wiccan's idea of Wicca is different so I will share my idea of what it is. To me Magick is using your energy, the energy of the earth, and the energy of the divine to manifest what you are looking for. If you are familiar with the book/movie "the secret" I find it a more powerful version of that.

We have 8 major holidays that come from the seasons of the year which I will talk about more in a separate post.

We also believe that we are all responsible for our actions, good or bad and we much deal with the consequences of our behaviours.

Lastly we also don't believe in converting others like many religions do. As Wiccan's we understand that everyone has their own path.

(I have not forgotten what we think of the afterlife, I am saving it for it's own post as well).

Yeah I think I agree with your interpretation of the threefold law that any reaction will affect you on a physical, mental and spiritual level as it is easy to look at yourself and see how changes in any of the levels affects them all thus a change in the totality of you as a person at that moment which may affect your personality for a length of time depending on the impact it has on your life.

Nice take! I have not seen or read part 1. I have been Pagan all my life, as have my brother and mother, although it is not a religion for us, but more a way of living. A system of celebration rather than veneration.

People are so willing to accept everything but their actual creator. The one true God. The only being who loves them beyond description. Who offers salvation but humans are too stupid and too evil to understand.

Notice how even though I am a different religion than you I don't feel the need to convert and preach to everyone? I am simply explaining to people what my religion is and don't care what their spiritual path is... you should try that some time.

My comment wasn't even toward you or about you, it was about people in general. And of course, you'd use the Christian terrorist argument, just like someone claimed I was Hitler because I believe in God. Someone claiming to be Christian doesn't mean they are a true follower of God. Obviously a terrorist is demonically influenced. But then again, so are you. You should stay away from this practice. It's going to condemn you spiritually.

it is a real religion and no it was probably just about witchcraft which isn't a religion but rather a practice

Interesting, but not concrete, the problem with every religion is evidence, therefore I can only take this as a grain of salt

but the thing with religion is the lack of evidence is where faith comes in. To me all I have to do is look at a tree to see my proof. Everyone has their own path though so whatever works for you is just fine.

why would that happened... Magick has nothing to do with possession. I've only done one spell that I can think of off the top of my head. I did a spell to get a more stable babysitting job. Shortly after I was leveled up in my pole fitness class to level 2 which opened up my Wednesday's which is when I the lady I was talking to needed me to babysit.

well I know that dealing with that stuff can open different doors of energies in your life as I used to do yoga, and 10 hour mediation and some astral projection here and there. its not just magic in itself, but I am pretty sure that just like with almost any other spiritual practices there are some negative entities involved. I have had things feed off my energy by certain practices that didn't even have to do with magic. where do you find your spells and how do you know if they are safe?

Well when one does magick you partake in safety measures so no negative energy can intervene... and as for finding spells I get ideas online and make my own... I think you have the wrong idea of what magick is... there is no safe or unsafe spells... as for why I only wanted babysitting is because I'm realistic... I don't need to be rich... a needed a stable babysitting job.

The Secret is vastly different than Wiccan practices - or so I've come to understand with my research.

I used the secret as an example for those new to the concept, not using it word for word. That is one issue I have with the idea of the secret is that you can get cancer because you did something to deserve it even if you are a good person. That example was to create a rough idea.
