This guy likes me, BUT takes forever to text back, & then some...

This guy says he likes me a lot, we hang out, kissed, etc. He takes so long to respond to my texts though, and he usually IS the first person to start texting during the day. He gets a little antsy if I take a while to respond, which is why I don't understand why he thinks he can take up to an hour to wait to text me. If I don't respond within about 45 min-hour I get other texts saying "you busy?"..."you there?"..."text me whenever you can.". But I've only done that to him once or twice when he takes that long, so I know he knows that I don't really like it when he takes a long time to respond. Can anyone think of any reason as to why he does this?

It could just be a little game. By taking so long to respond it creates the illusion that he is a popular, cool, important person that you should be interested in. It also get you to think about him more and more. So when he finally texts you or begins to text you more often you feel better, important, and lucky. Or he could be busy or a private person.

sometimes guys don't bother to text back...as if they want some free time with themselves or friends...they might give some excuses but these are all their failed chances for apologise!

Yeah I figured. He says he never has not text me back on purpose before, wich I find hard to believe.

He's probably insecure and afraid that you aren't into him. It sorta gives off the desperate vibe to me but I honestly get this way myself sometimes too so I'm not one to judge.
