Why do men lead women on?

Okay I know it's a two why street and some girls do this to. I for one have never done this. I think it's really mean and can be very hurtful especially if the other party is interested because they thought it was mutual. Guys if your not interested in a girl or are in a serious relation maybe engaged or married. Why would you lead a girl on? Why would you act like your interested in her. And for a long period of time not someone you just met, and casually flirted with for a few days I'm talking Months or even years. What do you get out of it? Answer my poll and please elaborate. Prolly cause they just want sex, but they don't want a relationship, so they lead on for sex, but don't commit. So many women are stupid enough to let themselves get lead on though and give it up instead of making sure of their intentions:\ both genders suck lol.

As you said, it's a two way street. But from my experiences and observations; it is MUCH more common to see a girl flirting with no intention of following through than to see a guy doing the very same thing.

As for why people would do it? A sense of manipulation or control I assume.

I think your right as much as, I hate to admit it. It's always about sex. I didn't really want to except that even guys that are in a relationship would do these things, but they do. It's happening to me now. This guy flirts with me and stares at me when ever I'm around, but I just found out he's married. This has been going on for almost a year. I feel real stupid.
