Well, then people need to stop watching the news because everyday something gory is being shown. Should we ban the news and other media outlets as well?
If it's based on a true story then I think it's more acceptable then if it's just straight out the head of a Psychopath... Either way I'd probably still watch it.
any justification for the sick twisted things they come up with? stuff that they seem so fascinated by they feel the need to make a movie about it? is that not weird at all to you?
well... I did but the paragraph I typed got deleted, because stupid glitches on this site D: I really don't think its that bad too be honest. I enjoy watching horror movies, because of the amazing adrenaline rush that I get; which, actually helps me fall asleep. The movies that you have mentioned are like the least "scary" movies out there. I remember watching paranormal activity when the main male character stuck his head in the attic and thinking, " wow, this movie would be so much better if
his lifeless body fell to the floor, because the ghost had lopped off his head". The psychological aspect of the films intrigue me and I have always wonder what kind of person could fathom such horror. Then I realized just how normal they are. After all I'm a pretty normal girl.. you would look at me and say, "wow, you look really innocent" but in truth I started writing horror stories. ^^
If we're talking about paranormal activity, I'd change my answer. That was just a thriller. I thought we were talking about movies with massively drawn out suffering.
so you're saying that when you watch someone being tortured to death you're thinking. "wow, what a great movie, and it's so great because I KNOW it's fake."
no one is thinking man that's awesome that they are being beaten to death or whatever..its adding the scare factor which most people who enjoy horror are going for.. they know its not real in the movie but at the time it feels real and knowing that it can actually happen is the scary part..but knowing the people in the movie aren't being hurt takes out the horrifying I can't watch this part.. I can't watch real life video of people dying but can watch movies about it..completely different

I'm not particularly into them, but no I don't think they should be banned. My solution: I don't watch them. . .
Not into torture p*rn. Should it be illegal? probably not.
i think t should. that kind of twisted behavior shouldn't be encouraged, or lower people's sensitivity towards violence.

I'm okay with fake horror. Better than the days of snuff films

I really dislike musicals and think they're SUPER annoying, can we ban those too?
well as far as I'm concerned, musicals aren't considered damaging to society, annoying or not.
Calling them a sick twisted moron is going too far. They work very hard to get their films produced .

personally I think movies that are just really scary are far better then watching movies with massively drawn out suffering.
No, they should not be banned. Some people, me, enjoy watching such movies. Not because I'm crazy, but because I KNOW it's fake.
so you're saying that when you watch someone being tortured to death you're thinking. "wow, what a great movie, and it's so great because I KNOW it's fake."
They're not really being tortured. But, obviously, we have different views.

I do agree.
