Do you feel that guys/girls should be going for other guys/girls in their own looks/weight class?

I wonder sometimes though if since I'm fat that other think I'm only allowed to be with girls in my same size. Girls weight range is not the same as a guys either.

if you're fat, less attractive and sloppy, you would have better luck with the big girls. you COULD go for girls outside of your looks class but you wouldn't have much success. you could potentially get a thin girl but she probably won't be very pretty.

some of you need to realize that just like looks matters for women, it matters for men too! if you are a Yugo don't go chasing Ferraris! like TLC said "dont go chasing waterfalls, stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to". its funny that you aren't attracted to women who are physically similar to you, yet you think you have a chance with more attractive girls.

when I do see a very attractive woman dating an ugly guy I think WTF. this doesn't generally happen since pretty girls don't often do this. they might date guys who aren't as pretty as them, but very rarely do they go for genuinely ugly guys unless there is money involved. they might go for an average guy at the least but even then he is compensating for his looks in other ways...say a situation like that show King of Queens. Doug and Carrie are extremely mismatched. I'd be like WTF at a real life version of them and think she had low self esteem

I think people are allowed to want who they want, but that they should try to be realistic. If I were overweight, I'd never expect a guy who was in shape to want me. If that happened, great, but I wouldn't expect it and I wouldn't think they were shallow for it. I often think that people on the more unattractive side of the looks/weight scale should be looking at it much differently. Instead of praying and hoping that people more attractive than you will give you a chance, why not improve your looks, lose the weight, and make that hope a reality.

It happens often that people who are less than average or overweight, tend to not like people who look like them (this question proves that). You say there is nothing wrong with wanting to date up. Which I agree. But then that leaves this little problem that if even YOU don't want to date someone that looks like you, how could you possibly expect anyone who tries harder at their appearance to want to date someone who looks like you.

This question doesn't prove anything. I never said I don't like girls who look like me. I don't expect that. No girl has liked me in any shape or form. I mean more like if I'm with a (just being random) a model would you be like WTF that guy should only be with big girls that's not right. As for losing weight, I hate exercise more than anything I've ever tried doing so I'll pass. If it leaves me forever alone, oh well. I have other things that can keep my mind off it or make me happy.

Confidence is important, but looks are still going to matter to be honest. The same reason why I'm sure you're asking this question is because you like girls who look better than you do. It's not really fair to say exercising is too hard for you, but the girls you like are the ones doing it.
