My girlfriend and my "best" friend are getting a little too close for comfort. Should I be worried?

I've starting dating this girl I met 4 years in January. We became really close, really fast. It's now at a point where she sleeps over every night and it kind of feels like she's moved in. It just so happens that I live with my best friend. So it feels like all three of us live together. 4 years ago, I introduced my best friend to the girl and for some reason he found her boring. Now he has become completely infatuated with her. He used to be one who would hole himself up in his room whenever I brought someone to the apartment. But now, he is always on the couch in the living room waiting for me to bring up my girlfriend every night. In the mornings, he'll disturb our sleep by knocking on my bedroom door and asking her if she wants to go to Dunkin Donuts (they have some obsession with the iced coffee). But whenever she's not there, he'll just go back to hiding in his room. One time him, another friend and I were drinking in the apt and he proceeded to drunk text her while I was sitting there. It was extremely awkward. And most recently, I decided to go home for a day to my parents' house. I tell my roommate this and he proceeds to text my girlfriend asking her to hang out the night I was gone. Why would he do this?

Don't get me wrong thought, it's cool that they've become friends, but every time I bring up my concerns to my girlfriend she'll simply brush them off. I find it extremely weird; it's like he'd rather hang out with my girlfriend than his best friend or any other people he knows. Am I right to be feeling this way? If not, how can I put my mind at ease?

number one, your boy has stepped over the line BIG TIME (drunk text, inviting her over when ur not there, dunkin donuts)

number two, your girlfriend needs to lay the law down and tell him to stop because she is dating YOU not him

number three, you need to talk to your roomate becuase I'm telling you if my roomate did this to my girl, weird sh*t like that esp when ur not around, id already tell his ass to move the f*** out...

if he is your boy he should NOT be doing this and he should listen to you when yo utalk to thim about how it bothers you...dont take his crap liek oh its not a big deal BECAUSE IT IS...im actaully heated for you man, he's def crossed the line and you NEED to have a chat

id also recommend chatting with your girl about it and tell her how it makes you uncomfortable...tell her its nothign to do with her but the way your friend talks to you is a little innapporpriate...try to make her see what's going on in your eyes...ask her how shed feel if she was in your situation, don't make her feel like she has to defend herself but id def talk to her about how he's been making you uncomfortable with what he says and how he always invites her over when ur not there and all that jazz

bottom line ur boy is mixed up and he better start watching himself...its not cool to do sh*tlike that to your boy

who knows maybe yorue taking it hte wrong way , but drunk texting, inviting when ur not there, knocking on your door to see if SHE wants to go to DD...tahts just bullsh*t man, stand up for yoruself and your relationship, he's crossed the line

..good luck, def talk to both of them...id recommend your girlfriend first so she can ignore him and tell him to f*** off if needed, then if that doesn't wrok talk to your boy and if that doesn't work and they both keep doing it, break up with her and if she comes back to screw around with him, knock him the f*** out and peace the next day, get that sh*t outta your life (if it comes to that lol) good luck homie

Thank god you agree man. I do feel like beating the sh*t out of him sometimes. there definitely is a line that has been crossed.

I have tried talking to my girl and she just says I should trust her and not to be jealous because she loves me a lot and what not. Honestly, I do trust her thought and I try to explain that he's crosses the line sometimes... idk

Good, that's what she needs to tell you....you do need to trust her and you should, but your boy has def crossed a line, try to find a way she can get across that he's going too far...maybe she should tell him this privately and then relay what was said onto you...that way instead of you potentially getting in the way of your friendship she can be the one to say "dude stop you're being redic and you're crossing a line, he's your friend you need to stop this, I'm not like that, he's my bf"
