Are single mother's considered whores?

I'm sorry for title but I wanted to get attention on this
I usually don't let peoples comments get to me. BUT!! 😁 This one has sat with me all night. I was recently called a whore because I have been a single mother. Apparently me having children with a man that turned out to be a selfish son of a bitch and take off 5 years later... makes it my fault... I am a whore is what I was told. Is that a common thought? Or is this guy as batshit as I thought. I think single "parents" not just mother's should be considered brave and heroic. (The ones that work hard and try that is) also lots of dead beat parents too... I get that. I know so many men and women that have worked couple jobs just to feed and clothes their kids... all on their own. I myself worked 2 jobs and put self through university. I was lucky to have an amazing man come into my life 7 years ago and help me, but for few years we were on our own. There were lots of tears and swears but my girls and I survived. In my books that makes single parents hero's... any thoughts?

Must confess I didn't read anymore than the title it just pissed me off! You single moms have such strength should be admired not criticized! So I say no not in most cases two of my friends are single moms and in both situations the fathers cheated cause sex wasn't as good after childbirth.. well damn she pushes a child through her vagina and thats the thanks she gets.. one of those women even wanted to abort it but he convinced her to keep it.. there's a lot of horrible men out there that make it much harder for the good ones! Same vise versa.. so someone doesn't see you and the children as an amazing once in a lifetime packaged deal he's not worth your time!!

i work as a caregiver no kids and been called that while i had a patient in a store shopping, literally in scrubs with a patient so i def get your frustration.

some people think they are so slick when they refer to not just single moms- but tattooed girls, pierced girls, girls who simply dont want them.

Based on your story, I don't think you are a whore or anything, but most single moms are the type to sleep around unprotected, and unwed not have the father leave after five years. So that's where the assumption comes from.

Single parents are not "heroes." It'd be heroic if they didn't divorce their children's father or sleep around unprotected. SOME single parents do work hard to provide for their child, but they seem like the exception nowadays, not the norm.

I actually was raised by a single mother and she didn't do jack sh*t for me growing up. Not to say I think of all single mothers as my own. But raising children to be decent people is hard even two-parent households.

What makes anyone think single parents can actually get their job done? Their sons will grow up without strong male role models. Or for the case of single fathers with daughters, they'll be lacking strong female role models.

I'm sorry that you had to face so many weirdos and Karens who have nothing better to do than butt their nose into other people's life. In my opinion, singles parents are the real heroes. One of my close friends lost her dad when she was 7, and her mom singlehandedly raised her and her younger brother. She worked 2 jobs, she still is and I think that she's a wonderful mom and a human being. This society is so fucked up to not realize who the real heroes are-- single moms and dads. Don't give a shit about what other people think of you, I can imagine how it must've affected you, people calling you names and all, but its important that you know that you're a wonderful human being for giving your kids the best life possible. Remember that you're a hero. When you have haters, you know that you've achieved something-- being an awesome mom to your kids. Realize that a lot of "men" on here are just boys, and are very young and VERY stupid. They been inculcated with some sort of misogynist theory that relieves the man of any possible responsibility for being a loser. I've read comments like " If a woman is a single mom, she most likely drove the man away because she's a bitch and impossible to live with". And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

As you describe your situation, that's the one I'm most familiar with. I realize it's all personal experience, and I know maybe 6 or 7 single moms, but everyone of them has the same story - the guy decided he couldn't handle it, or got into drugs, or became abusive. So then the woman gets blamed for "picking the wrong guy in the first place".

The single moms I know are all great parents, bust their ass to make ends meet, and don't hate all men because their guy turned out to be shit. Called a single mom a whore, or considering her to be one, is asinine and not even worth wasting breath on.

As you say there are a lot of deadbeats in the single parent category and although each case is different, it tarnishes all of you.
Some do an excellent job but I wouldn't personal call them heroes. I certainly wouldn't call them whores (unless they demonstrated that's what they were).
It's unfortunate that your first partnership didn't work out. You may have chosen badly, or you may have found fundamental and unforeseen red flags along the way. Not every failure can be prevented with the best will in the world.

by the way I have a difference in opinion about single mothers ( except for those widowed or divorced) especially those who got pregnant at young age. But I also realize we shouldn’t be judgmental. My mother was married each time she had kids, but was divorced both times. It was frowned at church, because she was a single mom raising kids. Which is wrong, but she is the strongest person I know.
