True story, as a prank, I hid in a storage room and had my co-worker talk absolute crap about me to see what the other would do. She was going in, and mid way, my other co-worker is like, what the hell are you talking about?!? She's not that person and if you have issues, you need to sort them out with her. I felt really honored that he had my back like that but then I always think what if he hadn't or agreed with her?!? I don't have or know people that talk crap about my friends or family which is nice but I would defend them because that's what you do for the people you care about.
it has happened before and... I didn't need to say a thing, I just went there to see if they would keep saying shit about them in front of me, and they stopped right away, some just changed the subject and one even said "sorry just kidding" lol...
the latest was actually a month ago or so, one of those neighbors that really hate cats... was saying shit about cats and making threats, and he didn't know I was walking right towards him, from behind, the moment he turned around he freaked out a bit and was really pissed off, but he didn't manage to say a word lol, was kind of awkward for not to laugh because I was trying to make it very clear with a stare, that I would make him regret it completely, if something happens to my cats or any other cat for that matter
Yes, I'd set the recond straight if someone was talking shit about a friend, people can say what they like about my family.
Seeing as my cousin has two kids, got high last time I heard and can't keep her shit together... that ain't my business.
Like she used to have a good head on when I was younger, now she can't even keep track of what's going on and depending on HER mother. I don't know what I expected but I really liked her because she was... young and cool? I was just at a kid at the time and really thought she was fun to be around I guess. Now... bruh, you (whatever age she is) and you actin' like a dumbass? Wtf happened?

I can never not jump in and shut them down. I totally resent those scheming toady (sorry, toads, I don't mean you) people who just can't wait until someone on their shit list leaves the room, so that they can indulge their twisted sick obsession with tearing others down. It really makes me feel nauseous, which could be a good 10-15% of why I jump right in and start tearing them down to their faces. Life is hard enough without that shit going on.
I know many times where people made up lies about me and I looked like the bad one cause they had more reputation and believability than me and I know people who defended those I considered unworthy of defence, so unless there is danger involved, I would avoid taking sides because just because someone is your family or girl, does not mean they are correctly behaving people, and I would rather be correct than relationally attached to those in my circle.
I don't often say much but I will walk over and say "What you talking about" which usually ends it.
Fact is, even if I say anything they are still going to say or think whatever they want. I learned long time ago, can't change anyone's mind.
I'm not a confrontational person but I'd probably do something to let them know that I heard them. Now if they were talking to me, I'd for sure put them in their place. I have been on a situation like this where I heard someone talking shit and I simply said "make sure you say it to their face too".
Getting facts straight before taking sides is imperative.
but if the facts lined up completely on your friends favor you would say something?
Depends if only one side of the story was heard. Facts require the entire picture. Something easy to skip over. I’d stand by a friend regardless, even if they were wrong. As a friend. But I wouldn’t damn another party for being wrong if they were not.
As a teen my friend was arrested off my driveway by ten cop cars with guns pointed at us. He was wrong. He was sorry. He was scared. He came to my family.
I told the cops this and stood by him.
For my best friend yes, I’d die for that girl but anyone else no.
One day I might be someone you'll wanna die for too ;)
jk :P
Hell yes! Ain't nobody is talking shit about the people that I love.
I will also say something if it's about any other person, but there I might still say it nicely tho
It depends on what that person says. For example, if someone accused one of my cousins for rape or said my mom is a dug addict then I'm definitely saying something.
.. i kind of have a hard time interacting with my peers sometimes, so i'd be confused on what to say to them... although i probably would've confronted them if i knew what to say.
Voted C. Also for me it would depend on who was talking. Sometimes fighting with some people it's not worth.
Yes, especially of it's a relative and if it's a close relative like my brother then I'll have step in and ask them to stop gossiping about them
if they can handle insult,(example ingnore it) i dont have to speak up.
but if it until the point of self harming, i will.
im talking they aren't even present near you or them when they make the comments. would you speak up?
so how would you know this if the person they are criticizing isn't there to hear it?
If they say something untrue about a loved one I will call them out. I can’t stand when people make up lies about people.
Nope. In fact I never say anything in the rare times its done to me. I see interaction as too much of a bother and waste of time from what I am trying to do.
I wouldn't say anything to the people talking smack, but I'd let the person know they are talking smack about them.
it depends but generally I would defend my loved ones
For my immediate family and close friends, yes, they'd do the same for me.
I would tell them off for sure
I do speak up
