My boyfriend keeps leaving and coming back.

My ex and I have broken up three times, he has been the one to initiate the break up every time without warning and for no reason other than "I need to have space." He has also been the one to say that he missed me every single time. I want him back more than I can say but I feel like if I let him back he will just keep breaking my heart. He just told me two days ago that he wants to come back to me. How can I stay with him and make our relationship solid?

He doesn't breakup with me and hook up with other people By the way. Even his mom and best friends told me he has been completely single.

I told him not to call me or even consider trying to get me back until he can tell me why this time will be different...idk what else to do.

He will do it again. I lasted through a tough rollercoaster relationship where I was broken up with 1-2 times per month for about 2 years. He claimed he needed space, or he didn't want to be with a girl that did or said xyz, just plain stupid reasons. It was a running joke that our friends would say "oh you will be back together in a week". I believed he loved me, and ultimately I hope he did, but he was too unstable to handle a relationship. Our last breakup consisted of him getting mad at me for me asking about something he did. Within a week we were back together, he bought me expensive roses, then acted very short with me. Finally he just completely started to ignore me, said a couple messages to leave him alone, and that was it. This has happened many times and I am sure you don't want that. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I couldn't face that he still loved me and yet was too afraid of getting hurt so he chose not to be with me. Still to this day I believe he wants to be with me but if he can't handle the maturity of a relationship, then he isn't mature in general, to care about your needs, any children you may have, or you. It is selfish to behave in such a way, but that is how he is. Good luck with everyone but I do hope that things work out the best for you.

it sounds as though he's having possible commitment issues but yet doesn't want to lose you (/reason why he keeps coming back and doesn't seem interested in messing around when he takes these breaks. for him he may be doubting himself or if he is what you want and if he's good enough for you.

stop and think he's not cheating when he takes these breaks so in a way because he still does have strong feelings for you to keep coming back to you and you alone.

theres and old saying yet true communication is essential in any relationship talk // listen // and understand others points of view. try to understand him also . you must let him know even when

he seems remote from you you'll be there for him (his rock so to speak)

I wouldn't put up with a roller coaster ride like that. If a girl did that to me, she's get one shot and after that, her decision would be a permanent one. I wouldn't let anybody drag you through the mud just because they need space.

If he's done it that many times, he's going to do it again.

If he makes you feel good most of the time. There is hope because he probably likes you. He is not afraid of loosing you(good) you may just not be aware of his entire life right now.
