My girlfriend defended another guy?

Well I've been with my girlfriend for 5 years and they been friends for one year )we started arguing cause of this dude saying "I love you" to her and telling her "i can treat you way better then he does" to her to leave me and crap and then I confronted him but then she starts to defend him on every little thing.Then he said he could make her break up with me if he wanted to and to be with him and I showed her the text she had no response then I don't know if I took it to far but I know I had finally had enough of that B.S so I told her it's either me or him. friend or boyfriend and she stood speechless and said " he's my friend and it's f**ked up if she doesn't talk to anymore plus he tells her everything supposedly but I literally don't know what to do. is it me? am I over exaggerating or do I have every reason to and what should I do?

Here's my update after a heated argument I decided to break up with her and just move on because life is too short for this B.S!...But here' a f***ed up twist to the whole thing...I just found out that that other guy started talking with some other girl and is hanging with her now HAHAHAHAHA! That's what my ex gets!

I'm not exactly sure why that other guy just decided to up and hit on another girl though. I've actually seen them together and she's not too bad looking. But as for my ex I guess you can say she got DOUBLE-DUMPED oh well that's her loss:-)

This guy is already in the process of stealing your girl. He's got her convinced that he's the good guy, you don't treat her well enough and anytime she 'needs him' he'll be there for a shoulder to cry on. Then when she's had enough of you he'll be there to console her and bam, in the bedroom. Guys like this are a disgrace, as are girls like yours. I put my fiance first over anyone, as does he, we've got each others' back, you and me vs the world. I would never put someone else before him ESPECIALLY another man, nor would I run to a man to discuss our relationship problems. I have plenty of GF's for that kind of venting and discussion. Completely inappropriate. My guy knows he has nothing to worry about with me because I'm faithful and I don't put him in sh*tty situations like this that make him feel bad and doubt his place in my life. Aren't you losing attraction to her acting this way? I don't usually vote yes for ultimatums but this time I will. Absolutely if my guy did this, I would explain how hurt and betrayed I felt, and that if this 'friendship' was SO important to him, that I can't be with him anymore. Even after 5 years? Yes. It's as bad as cheating, she's getting emotionally attached to him to the point she chooses his feelings over yours, trust gone, relationship dying. I'd say it's already on it's way out, sorry for that. Find one who deserves you.

You have every right to be pissed off and seriously, if she can't choose between her friend or you, she should seriously get the sack. Women don't treat men they love the way she treated you. Let this a**hole have your girlfriend and later on he will dump her cause the reason he is into her is because she is unavailable and with you. These type of guys are called "girlfriend stealers". They purposely try to down play you and make you lose control. All she needs is a little bit of convincing evidence that he is better and you are worse. After that, she will be screwing him. You should be pissed, but sadly you can't express your anger. If she is defending him, that means she already is starting to get an emotional attachment to him. "A shoulder to cry on is a d*** to ride on" is probably the most true statement ever. If you ever do something to make her angry or sad, and he comes in to save the day and help her, kiss your girlfriend goodbye.
