Was he saying that he's not interested?

This is a conversation between this guy and I. I'm the one talking in the blue the previous texts were me saying that I hope he's ok because he seemed distant. He said that he's ok and that he's not sick. So I asked him what was is it then and this is what he replied with. I haven't responded to his message the last thing I said was that I'm not contacting him anymore.

i think he was saying he is interested, because he said “i am?” as stating that he does, yet also putting a question mark as a way to question you on why you think he isn’t. holidays do get pretty busy with family and everything as well, so it really could be the case that he was busy. but then again i don’t know the whole story nor his character either, so i’d like to hope that he was being honest but yeah.
