He might just be busy. My Facebook account always shows me online for some reason, even when I don't have the app pulled up. I wouldn't rely on things like that if you're trying to get a hold of someone.
If he's only sending emojis, he might be busy. That's what I usually do if I'm swamped with stuff to do, but don't want to be rude to whoever is texting me.
Now, about him not wanting to fix things. He has to be willing to listen to your needs, not wants, but needs. If he doesn't care about what you want, you can do SO much better. Some people are a lost cause and a waste of time.
If he cares about you, he'd at least try to fix things, but I would do it in person. Social media isn't as reliable as people think, especially if the internet is slow.
If he's not willing to come to the figurative table the most you can do is ask why. If that hss no reply or is not reasonable it is time to move on.
There may be very legitimate reasons. A person feeling gaslit for example would stay away while potentially still having feelings. But one way or another if no dialogue can happen it is a lost cause.
Lay your cards on the table. Figure out or ask what it takes to see his. And then go from there.
If he doesn't want to talk and work things out, he's getting tossed to the curb
