Girlfriend has a cold is this normal? How do you guys treat the cold?

I remember getting chills when I had the cold a year ago and I never felt warm. She feels extremely hot to the point she is sweating and is only in a T-shirt. Constant urination and of course the usual cough and sorethroat I know that's normal. Temperatures pretty normal only 99 so nothing to freak out about. Healthy fit 22 year old. She got this suddenly after coming home from the gym.
We have to meet my parents tomorrow (they are flying in from out of state) so anyway to get over this cold quick? I told her to eat hot chili soup that's what my mom used to give me and it worked but she refuses to eat anything hot since she is practically drowning in sweat.

Have her drinking lots and lots of water, and eating as much as she can. Lots of sleep as well. A little sunshine always makes me feel better though, so if she's up to it she could sit outside or go for a slow, short walk if it's sunny. See if you can get some cold medicine at the drug store, there's tons of medicines specifically for colds. Ask your girlfriend if she's ever taken any that have worked for her in the past. If she's not better within a few days, it's time to take her to the doctor. Lastly, are you sure your thermometer is accurate? You may consider purchasing a new one as a sort of second opinion. If her temperature is only 99 why is she sweating so bad?

Try drinking orange juice and lots of water to help flush the virus out. Getting a cold is very normal.

Lol exactly what I was wondering. We checked her temperature several times same thing 99. I know she isn't lying because she's been with me the entire day since I've been taking care of her.

Dude, she has a cold. Let her rest for god sake, don't trouble her with absurd potions, or worrying about whether she will be ill meeting your parents. She will either be ill or she won't be, bugger all you can do about it.

Its not me its her. I told her my parents don't have to stay with us and if they do my mom wouldn't mind taking care of her because she adores her but my girlfriend insists she has to get better.

You should make sure she gets lots of rest and vitamin C. If she feels okay enough to go for a walk outside she should do that too, especially if it's sunny. You may also want to get some cold medicine for her, there's lots of them at stores. It's also a good idea for her to get exercise if she's stuffed up - I get a really bad stuffy nose when I have a cold and sometimes going for a run helps clear it up.
