And is there anything about it you wish was removed?
I love the season and most of all it stands for but you got to admit, how many ways can you repackage Rudolph the red nose reindeer, it's like every artist out there tried to give us their voice with Christmas songs, is their no one who can write a new batch of X mass songs, I'm not saying get rid of the OG, s, throw them on a oldies channel but it's like New season same songs, yawn, surely some composer who isn't with the mentality of, if it ain't broken spin the same 5000 year old originals x mass songs, someone must be brave enough to put the beats to some new words and bring x mass songs to the 21st century, or am I being a bit, over the edge here, nah you know I'm right, don't this are best suited in the past or on is there any oldies stations left, on AM the usually are, speaking of AM why does my car not have an Am on the radio, hit FM XM no am serious took me 5 months to realize this, fury no spare tire now no am radio, but prices go up every year, getting less for more, damn auto makers, what's next no doors, have to ñ those separate, sometimes I swear we are going backwards as a society, no damn am, so I'll be only one who don't get the emergency broadcast in a actual emergency

I picked all of it. It's packed with gimmicks and activities that I find to be a waste of time. I refuse to buy gifts, but I have to deal with people giving me shit I don't need or want. Same with my kid... they get him things he loses interest in before he even opens the box. Or it will be some noise maker or a mess maker that turns my kid into someone I want to discipline. Fortionately my kid is very much like myself, and he also views the whole ordeal as just annoying and dumb.
I guess it's great to catch up with racist, loud, and alcoholic relatives, but seriously... I could be lifting weights instead. The buying shit and gift-giving routine tops my list of annoying the most though. If you have to give me something, just give me the fucking money. I guarantee what I buy will be more useful and get used more than some piece of trash that finds its way to the trash pretty quickly.

I hate the “last minute gift” culture. I wish more people adopted the habit of Christmas shopping weeks or even months prior. Last minute shopping just clogs up the malls and shops and makes it hard to shop regularly for at least 2 weeks before Christmas.
And I understand people who say they didn’t have the money until around Christmas time well, if you don’t have the money you shouldn’t be buying the gifts period. Too many people feeling pressured to keep up with Christmas time by digging themselves in a financial hole. It’s okay to not spend yourself into debt at Christmas. Stop buying your kids toys they aren’t going to play with or feeling like if you don’t get them that expensive gift they’ll resent you for it.10 Reply

Honestly, I don't really like having guests come to my house, I hate going into "guest" mode. Always trying to be polite, making sure everyone has everything they want or need, making sure they are happy and taken care of... it is exhausting. But I like being the guest in someone else's house even less because I always feel out of place and uncomfortable, like I don't fit in or that I am in the way.
And I don't like the people who shoot off rifles and the big boom fireworks.

@ManOnFire I am glad that someone else understands. When I mentioned how I feel to family and friends, they don't understand as they are more comfortable in social situations, I guess.

I'll just say the music. I mean, it's the same songs every year, there's never any new Christmas songs. It gets annoying to be honest. Everything else is fine.
14 Reply- 11 mo
I don't get tired of Owl City's Peppermint Winter song though. But that's due to it not being played on the radio any. I'll most likely listen to Christmas ghost lofi music this year.

@strateguy632 dude, it took me THREE tries this year. Lights weren’t lighting up, I’d have to re-do it, then other lights wouldn’t work. Had a pile of slack line of supposedly dead lights that I piled at the base of one bush, out of sight, out of mind…. and now those are lighting up again🤦♂️ I might just say “fuck it” next year, haha
Almost all of it because decorations and small amounts of gift giving

I have 4 kids whose birthdays are September, October, November, December. I absolutely hate the last 1/3 of the year. I am very frugal to the point it could be classified as a mental disorder. I am a woman who hates shopping, hate spending money and I hate crowds. Do I even like Christmas anymore🤔
12 Reply- 11 mo
Yes and they're all boys and all 4 years apart
Religion part because I was born into a family of Catholics, while myself is an Atheist, politics, and more. They always argue that I am the one in the wrong and I cannot have my own opinion while they clash against each other, but that's fine whenever I come over into it. It’s not, and I always get heavily criticized and hated over it and complain about how I cannot handle anything they say about me being constructive criticism. Yet, all they do is harass my personal views, say I’m just weak and soft, and how I want to attack them and feel bad even though all I say to them is that I don't want to be yelled at or be criticized or any minor thing they find “wrong.”
10 ReplyI hate the cooking and baking, especially when done with my family. They always seems too nervous, they shout at me for being too slow or careless and then I get nervous and make mistakes, which is even worse.

I do not like repetitive commercials. More to the point, commercials asking for donations. I know times are bad and volunteer organizations need help but the cuteness wears thin after 40 or 50 takes. I start to change the lyrics to the catchy jingles and If anything turns my Christmas spirit off its over saturation of the media with plea for cash. I mean ask once, If I have it to give consider it yours. But enough is enough.

I really don't like the fact that it's so hard to get pto time for Christmas. Everyone wants it. Every single job I've ever been in has not been super in board with me taking off time for Christmas. Wish I could take two weeks off. That would be so nice.
16 Reply- Opinion Owner11 mo
Yeah I don't like it. Jobs always treat their best employees badly. Our last girl wanted a raise and she was doing almost everything and got denied. She quit and works at the vet clinic. I mean would it have been so hard to just give her a dollar raise? Ridiculous. She was my work wife. I miss her.
- 11 mo
The reason why jobs keep their hardest working people down is because they know that person is the best, and they want to keep the best for less money, and will rarely promote them to supervisor or manager because management feels like they need to keep their best, hardest working employee at the bottom where shit can get done. And because if they promote them, they'll never find another worker as good as them to put at the bottom. The work world is very cruel, and what's worse is that they know it... and don't care.
- Opinion Owner11 mo
Honestly, I completely believe this because of what happened to her. I used to think work hard and go up the latter but honestly I think jon hoping is better to get the income needed. Which isn't something I'm super on board with but it's just how things are.
- 11 mo
Right. The mistake most people mistake - myself included at one point - is believing that working hard really gets you to the top. It doesn't. It actually keeps you where you are, while the people who don't work as hard as you and don't know as much either, will get promotions. Because they either get favor or are good at 'networking.' The job world shouldn't work that way, but unfortunately it does.
- Opinion Owner11 mo
That's for sure. All the statistics back this up too. Many studies have shown job hoping really helps get better pay, not staying with the same company unfortunately. Which is tough for people who do not like change.
- 11 mo
Being around the people. It’s making me sleepy just thinking about it.
11 Reply It's taking down all the decorations and lifting the heavy boxes back into the tall shelves. That's what I don't like lol.

people getting into debts to buy things that they can’t affort. That it has become commercialized.

21 Reply- 11 mo
As of about 25 to 30 years ago, the biggest thing I hate about it is how plastic people have made it!! They put up the tree Halloween night and start playing 24/7 Christmas music from then on `til the stroke of midnight Christmas night when, suddenly, it all stops dead and the trees and decorations come down that night and and everyone acts like there never was a Christmas!!
Gift giving, I always feel guilty for not getting good gifts because I dont have much money

- 11 mo
@strateguy632 Not necessarily. In my own circle, we just give a few ''token'' gifts; they are often self made, or 'symbolic;' little things.
This year i. e. I'll throw a large self made and overloaded pizza (I could not contribute much own cooking during this year, and they 'miss' it). Sure: there are some expenses involved. But here not for the sake of spending. We don't try to impress each other with 'price', but more with 'thought' :)
