Based on your responses you would be considered dumb 😆😭🤣. Why? a lot of you in the comments done know what friends mean. Friends aren't random gag members, casual people you know nothing about. a friend is more than that. thats what he means not everyone is your friend and if you think they are you aren't intelligent at all

Do you agree: Intelligent people tend to have less friends and those with antisocial behavior are intelligent?
I agree because when you are intelligent, are being considered intelligent or even tested intelligent by means of sophisticated IQ tests, you outcast yourself automatically from the vast majority of the people.
They will tend to see you as above their league intellectually and this does automatically impact on the number of friends you have.
Just look at an autistic person. Many of them are very intelligent but they live in their world for multiple reasons, one of them being that they avoid eye contact and seem odd to the majority of people.
The same applies for savants. Those super intelligent people only feel comfortable within their peers, not because they want it but because when you reach a certain level of intelligence, you want to continuously develop that gift. You can only achieve that by remaining at least at the intellectual level you are currently at.
Also, common people like me and others have inhibitions to communicate at a level so much superior by fear to be perceived as stupid, not by the intelligent person but by yourself.
As for the anti-social trait, it is also true that now more and more companies are hiring people that are anti-conformist because they realize that those people are the ones that will deviate from the set rules. They are the ones that will bring in new ideas with their odd thinking that goes against the current.
Nikola Tesla is the perfect example of the type of person that changed the world because he was thinking a step ahead of everyone and went against the current when competing against Thomas Edison.

And Not always you can find quality into a selective pool!. In my college I have 30 males students in class but only one 1st mate kind of person as friend and 2 substitute buddy.. Because 1 was getting outcast and other didn't wanted to be judged.. I tone down my intellect around them
@Nik1hil it is a very delicate balancing act that requires a lot of self-discipline to remain afloat sufficiently not to drown into mediocrity but also to keep your head out to grasp a lifeline of knowledge that will eventually pull you out.
I'm asocial (more than antisocial) or maybe is that I'm social but I have social phobia now and then. I can count real friends with one hand fingers and yet I can get to be pretty dumb. I find calling me intelligent would be insulting to real intelligent people out there. Now I'll return to my kingdom of the absurd.

He's right. A true friend is someone you can share your inner thoughts with. People are hardwired to take advantage of anything and everything, so to expose yourself to someone makes you vulnerable.
And why would you want to be "normal" anyway. To think about what normal people do to each other turns my stomach. Friend, acquaintance, enemy... it doesn't matter. People treat strangers better than people they know. So, logically, if you want to be treated with respect, don't get too close to anybody
Define intelligence:) I don't agree, I know intelligent social people, but that depends upon in what way they are smart and they certainly want to be around people of comparable intelligence. So that limits some people. It's a heart matter.
well that's true. there's deep friends (youd give key to your house, you fully trust in), casual friends hang out with but don't know that well.. like for certain social events. Most people I know only have a few close friends. it's hard to get to know and trust large numbers.
there are different depths to friends. Like, I have friends I'd bike ride with. they are bike riding friends. I see them at the event, we talk, we ride together. It generally ends there. I have church friends, people I see there and talk with, doesn't go further. We can share and talk somewhat deeply about what is going on, but not fully. I only see a part of their life. Maybe that is an acquintance.. but to me, that is someone... like I neighbor I see and cordial with, and talk, but not friend. I know lot of people, I'm friendly, only a few friends. I guess that makes me brilliant... lol:)
I have friends I'd give key to my house, they for me. Those are true friends. I can say anything and they wouldn't judge me... well unless it is politics... that's another matter. Are we using the same word in diff ways? What are you really asking because behind your question is a motive? Are you trying to understand yourself and be ok with not having friends? whats really up?
That's strange I can't hangout with someone I do not know at all. if we met through work at a luncheon and become what i consider friends i know about them. i think that's why he says people who have less friends are smarter bc you guys call everyone friends.
I'll have eto think about this. at first I thought I was smart, now I may be dumb:)! I think it is more related to depths of intimacy and comfort with closeness and vulnerability. human relation. I don't call everyone a friend. ok... I hve idea... I see things in shades of grey not black and white. an xGF though, my father, they were black and white thinkers. It's this way or that way. Is that how you see the world, it's one way or other? My view of the word "friend" would align with how I think... everything has gradations to it. ah... I feel smart now:) just being funny.
Tell me about it.. Even since I have worked on my intelligence it's way difficult for me to make friends.. Sometime when my friends are talking things.. I phase out of the boredom and menial stuff they are talking about.. This isn't the worst part.. Because they are friends they understand me and for friendship I am willing to go quite far for them..
The worst part is When your Choose intelligence.. It's Extremely Difficult to find a partner who can Match Your Caliber!.. Who can catch your references in a conversation... And wants things out of life just like you do. Take me for example and Gag as pool!..
I mean if among 1000 females of my age group, it's like only 100 have caliber to understand what i say and my reference and give me that quality of conversation.. Thus.. If you clock up, your intelligence then you kill chances of finding ideal partner by 99%..
However! Challenge can be countered by increasing your dating pool range by 10 times instead of dating at your age. Open pool to 5yrs older and younger.. People and you will have 10% chance at finding an ideal partner.. However a range like 10 years elder and younger will raise chance to 20% which is enough.. Like me and @StingRayxoxo share common perceptions.. Because then you only need to seriously date at least 5 people to find 1 good enough..
I think its true. The higher up u go, the more u realize that not everyone ur surrounded by is your friend. And u start removing people out of your life.
Since having friends can provide you many advantages in life, it doesn't sound too intelligent to isolate yourself. Tesla's problem was that he viewed intelligence as simply book smarts which paradoxically demonstrated the limit of his intelligence. Tessa limited the acceptance of his ideas because he lacked the social skills to market his ideas and allow them to flourish. If he was smarter, he would have focused more effort on gaining acceptance of his ideas.

Anti-social behaviour can be a consequence of intelligence, but that doesn't mean intelligence is a consequence of anti-social behaviour. The order in which you put those matters.
When you're an intelligent person, you're going to relate to others less -- at least in some ways. But that's going to push you away a bit and then you're on the outside relating to people less and less.
