Comparing my relationship with my boyfriend against my friends' relationships?

I feel a little p*ssed off right now. I'm comparing my relationship with my boyfriend against my friends, and I think to myself why isn't ours like this?. I wish my boyfriend was like that or did that for me. :(

We're so in love with each other and he really is amazing but am I missing something?

My friends and there boyfriends haven't even been together for a year and they're going on two holidays this year, my other friend is still in the UK but going away for a break to another city, with her boyfriend, my other friend is going away abroad with her boyfriend also.

I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years and he doesn't even suggest doing things like this with me, and I admit I feel jealous of my friends and there boyfriend doing things like this together.

Why doesn't he suggest a romantic weekend break? All he does is take me to the cinema, which I'm sick of going to. is this why people break up because after 2 years together its boring?, I enjoy been with him and he's a laugh and we get on amazing and I'm very much in love but we stay in most weekends and do nothing. He'd go to another city to see football which is getting me annoyed but won't suggest doing something sweet with his girlfriend of 2 years.

Are you unhappy because you like to travel and don't get to, or because your friends have something you don't have ?

If it is the former, then all you have to do is to invite your boyfriend for a trip, and when says no, ask him why. Some people likes to travel, while others don't. Some people like to travel but are too tired after a week's work, and consider spending time at home enjoying the peace their way of keeping their emotion life in balance. You can bring creativity to your weekends by doing things that both of you enjoy. Even the "practical type" can learn about creativity and romances, in small steps if necessary.

If it is the latter, which is a case of jeolousy, then you will always have this problem no matter who you are with. You can even be jeolous of Mrs. Obama, and ask your boyfriend, why can't you get me into the White House ? And when you do, you will find something else to be jeolous about, like "Why can't you spend more time with me like an ordinary husband ?" I am sure you can see the amount of unhappiness jeolous people bring themselves, and the people around them.

The reason relationships fails sometimes is when you start judging your relationship based on someone else's. Is that truly fair. Wouldn't it be simpler to ask him out somewhere you would enjoy rather than analyzing what you don't like or how jealous you are that your friends are doing something else? Not only that but you see your boyfriend more than they do. Would you prefer to see him less? I think your being ungrateful for what you have by making expectations based on what you see around you. Come on now, that isn't fair to you or your relationship.

Maybe that's just the type of guy he is and it's not fair to judge him based on someone else. If he isn't what you want and you want the things your friends have then find someone new, but don't judge him because of that. You know going away and doing things isn't everything. If you two can have fun at home that's a good thing.

It's not just his responsibility though. If you are into these things maybe you should suggest it. Maybe you should take him away for the weekend, and if he enjoys it maybe he'll do it for you. You need to talk to him about it because I am guessing he doesn't know how you're feeling. And if you are as in love as you say you are then you guys can compromise and come up with something both of you can agree with.

No that's not the point I've been with this guy for two years now, he's been abroad and been away to football games to other citys or whatever but he doesn't take me or want to have a nice romantic weekend break or anything I seem to notice other couples are doing.

For the past 2 years, I've stayed in at weekend to be with him and haven't done much yes he takes me out to the cinema but I've been there so many times its boring as hell would you be happy staying in all the time with an unromantic bo

He is a guy. He probably hasn't realized it has been this way. It probably doesn't bug him so he doesn't realize it bugs you. You need to point it out to him and talk about ways to fix it. I was with a guy for four years and he didn't even take me to the movies. We NEVER did anything. We went on our first date on our one year anniversary. But we always had fun doing other things so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Try talking to him, men aren't mind readers. you have to let him know that your disastified with what's been going on. Although I have to say that you shouldn't compare your relationship with other. Your friends boyfriends might just be trying to impress them, and you and your boyfriend seem to be past all that.

Also why don't YOU try planning a romantic weekend since it's what you want?
