Should I stop talking to her because I'm catching feelings for her?

There's a girl at work who doesn't get along with anyone except for me and another female worker from her church. Everyone talks bad about her except for me. She invited me to her house twice but cancelled both times. People are already speculating something is going even though that is not the truth. I do like her and wouldn't mind being in a relationship with her. So I texted her yesterday that we should stop talking to each other. How should I tell her it is because I'm catching feelings for her and she might not like me back?

If you're into her enough that it scares you that SHE would reject you, then you just need to tell her what you're feeling. Don't be weird about it, but say, "Look, I apologize for saying we needed to stop talking, I know that was probably abrupt and confusing. Just understand, I'm catching feelings for you and I don't want that to get in the way of work or how you feel about me." That simple. She can't reject you for that, and things don't need to be weird. It will either spark something between the two of you, or keep you as friends. Unless she's wild she won't just stop talking to you or starting hating you for that.
