I wouldn't call it romantic feelings but more it's like an illusion. Your simply really drawn to the idea of them.

That's why they don't align with what you know you need in a healthy relationship.

Your attracted to how they differ from you. It's more of a fantasy kinda attraction that usually goes away after dating the actual person.

This can also be considered lustful being it's not actually real connection but a behavior that might be letting you know that you need to work on yourself and maybe give yourself some time to relax and be more open to losening up being so restrictive in your beliefs.

But the best explanation I can think of would be a girl falling for the bad boy who KNOWS he's bad, but he's also "tall and dreamy" and she wouldn't want to waste her time on some 5'9" ugly loser of a guy who'd treat her well, but isn't "sexy." No, but I would imagine a case where anyone would reasonably have that is where you have those feelings, but you know good and well that you can't be with them for whatever reason and accept that so you say that you don't want to be with them despite having those feelings.
