Guys, how often do you go through periods where you consider yourself (or your SO tells you that you're) "high maintenance?"?

Let's face it, regardless of sex we all can be all be a little bit of a challenge to our significant others at times. I'm not here to fuel the never-ending battle of the sexes, the question is really designed to elicit some honest self-assessment from men and how those in your circle perceive you.

Often? Struggle to put a number on it but at least weekly. It's also situation dependent. I'm high maintenance when it comes to the calendar, for example.

What we've figured out though, is just what things make us high maintenance so when it happens we're prepared for each other.

I have never been accusing of being high maintenance, but honestly, I accredit that to the fact that I am not high maintenance. If guys are telling you that, and you have heard it more than once... then you should pay attention to what that means.

it means that they think you expect too much for who and what you are, as in saying that you are not worth the effort you feel deserving of, because you do not give them what they feel they deserve.

I WISH my Prior" SO was 'higher maintenance! I quit dating her after a LONG period, because she seemed to take my company for granted, no matter how she looked when I came to pick her up. I like a person that maintains his/her appearance.

It depends on what you mean by "high maintenance". Personally, I just like having gadgets that work and food that tastes good. As for personal appearance, I do my best to present myself well, wherever it is.
