I am a BIGGGGG water drinker. I usually drink a gallon a day, like a store bought gallon. During the pandemic it was a lot easier since I was home and could pee any time I needed.
Now I have a water jug (shown below, you can buy on Amazon) that helps me continue my gallon but it’s a bit smaller and a lot easier to carry. It tells me when I should drink and how much soo you really don’t pee as often because the amount your taking in a measured.
Water is so good for you and I love it so much, you can do so much with it.
Possibly up to 2 litres in really hot weather, but only about 1500ml when it's not as warm.
It might not be as much as some people, but it suits me perfectly well.
That bottle on one of the pictures has got times of day on it. There's no way I'd be drinking water at 9pm or I'll be awake so many times in the night or even worse not awake. It's far better for me to concentrate water intake in the earlier part of the day, before 6pm usually as it makes things more comfortable.
The most common recommendation is to have an intake of 8 glasses of water daily, but that includes all of the water in the foods that you eat. You are drinking more than twice the recommended amount. That does not make you twce as healthy. It actually places you at risk for many long term, serious medical problems.
Overview Hyponatremia occurs when the concentration of sodium in your blood is abnormally low. Sodium is an electrolyte, and it helps regulate the amount of water that's in and around your cells.
In hyponatremia, one or more factors — ranging from an underlying medical condition to drinking too much water — cause the sodium in your body to become diluted. When this happens, your body's water levels rise, and your cells begin to swell. This swelling can cause many health problems, from mild to life-threatening.
Hyponatremia treatment is aimed at resolving the underlying condition. Depending on the cause of hyponatremia, you may simply need to cut back on how much you drink. In other cases of hyponatremia, you may need intravenous electrolyte solutions and medications.
Symptoms Hyponatremia signs and symptoms may include:
Nausea and vomiting Headache Confusion Loss of energy, drowsiness and fatigue Restlessness and irritability Muscle weakness, spasms or cramps Seizures Coma When to see a doctor Seek emergency care for anyone who develops severe signs and symptoms of hyponatremia, such as nausea and vomiting, confusion, seizures, or lost consciousness.
Call your doctor if you know you are at risk of hyponatremia and are experiencing nausea, headaches, cramping or weakness. Depending on the extent and duration of these signs and symptoms, your doctor may recommend seeking immediate medical care.
Causes Sodium plays a key role in your body. It helps maintain normal blood pressure, supports the work of your nerves and muscles, and regulates your body's fluid balance.
A normal blood sodium level is between 135 and 145 milliequivalents per liter (mEq/L). Hyponatremia occurs when the sodium in your blood falls below 135 mEq/L.
Many possible conditions and lifestyle factors can lead to hyponatremia, including:
Certain medications. Some medications, such as some water pills (diuretics), antidepressants and pain medications, can interfere with the normal hormonal and kidney processes that keep sodium concentrations within the healthy normal range. Heart, kidney and liver problems. Congestive heart failure and certain diseases affecting the kidneys or liver can cause fluids to accumulate in your body, which dilutes the sodium in your body, lowering the overall level. Syndrome of inappropriate anti-diuretic hormone (SIADH). In this condition, high levels of the anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) are produced, causing your body to retain water instead of excreting it normally in your urine. Chronic, severe vomiting or diarrhea and other causes of dehydration. This causes your body to lose electrolytes, such as sodium, and also increases ADH levels. Drinking too much water. Drinking excessive amounts of water can cause low sodium by overwhelming the kidneys' ability to excrete water. Because you lose sodium through sweat, drinking too much water during endurance activities, such as marathons and triathlons, can also dilute the sodium content of your blood. Hormonal changes. Adrenal gland insufficiency (Addison's disease) affects your adrenal glands' ability to produce hormones that help maintain your body's balance of sodium, potassium and water. Low levels of thyroid hormone also can cause a low blood-sodium level. The recreational drug Ecstasy. This amphetamine increases the risk of severe and even fatal cases of hyponatremia.
Prevention The following measures may help you prevent hyponatremia:
Treat associated conditions. Getting treatment for conditions that contribute to hyponatremia, such as adrenal gland insufficiency, can help prevent low blood sodium. Educate yourself. If you have a medical condition that increases your risk of hyponatremia or you take diuretic medications, be aware of the signs and symptoms of low blood sodium. Always talk with your doctor about the risks of a new medication. Take precautions during high-intensity activities. Athletes should drink only as much fluid as they lose due to sweating during a race. Thirst is generally a good guide to how much water or other fluids you need. Consider drinking sports beverages during demanding activities. Ask your doctor about replacing water with sports beverages that contain electrolytes when participating in endurance events such as marathons, triathlons and other demanding activities. Drink water in moderation. Drinking water is vital for your health, so make sure you drink enough fluids. But don't overdo it. Thirst and the color of your urine are usually the best indications of how much water you need. If you're not thirsty and your urine is pale yellow, you are likely getting enough water.
A few months ago I only had water with any medication I had now I have 3-6 22 ounce bottles a day it’s reduced a lot of pain I had in my stomach so I highly suggest increasing water intake it can improve something you never realized was a problem
I have that bottle also.. The big one.. I used to drink water all the time.. To the point where I didn't drink anything else except protein shakes.. During the "pandemic" also.. I trying to get back to doing it like I used to.. It did make me feel good.. Water truly is good for you..
There are actually better ones on the same page but all the research I've done it is true what they're saying and to me that is something so freaking cool and so beautiful and really needs to be respected because we are dirty and up our water so bad it made me start thinking first of all I never read the Bible but where did water come from and I think God got it from the heavens but I'm not really for sure on that but it's something that's very special because that means water knows everybody is this the document that tells you you could take a eye dropper full of water put it on a microscope glass and you will get 10 of the same identical snowflakes that's who you are you could hand me that same glass of water and I drop her I could do the same thing with it and it will give me my 10 identical snowflakes with myself that is America that's magic that's that is so cool
I try to drink a gallon. I used to carry just a gallon jug with me at work, but most days I realistically drink about half of it. If I could get myself to stop drinking coffee in the mornings, I'd be able to drink a lot more water
I don't know how much I drink but it's probably below the recommended level. But I've been drinking more lately because it has been very hot for a couple of weeks here. Water, gatorade, smoothies. Yum.
Not enough Tbh. But only because I've been walking around a city the majority of everyday for the past week. And they don't have many public bathrooms. So I've been drinking just enough to where I won't feel weak or have to constantly pee.
I fill up a big jug of mine with water at the start of the day and by the end of the day it’s about empty but I don’t know the exact amount of water plus some days I drink more and have to refill it especially if it’s hot out like today was
I drink anywhere between 64- 128oz depending on the day and how busy I am at work. How much running around I’m doing. 64oz on a normal day off. So I drink a lot, hardly ever drink pop or juice
I drink usually around 1.5 lt per day, but I eat a lot of fruits so I balance well the rest of water. Compliments to be a good water drinker, hydration it’s really important.
