I have trouble staying motivated to work out when I have lots going on in my life, and part of that is because I've fallen out of the habit of going to the gym. I always think that there's no time to go, but I know that's a lie, because I was able to work out regularly last year during the busiest semester of school I've ever had.
Some things I did then that worked really well:
1) I found myself a workout buddy. He was really good at motivating me to keep going when I was ready to stop.
2) I found an exercise program that was clear and easy for me to get used to. I used Couch to 5K, and it worked astoundingly well for me - by the end of 9 weeks, as advertised, I was running 5Ks easily.
3) I set a schedule and stuck to it. My partner and I met up three times a week at 4PM to run, which was really important in the beginning. As you keep exercising and start feeling the positive effects of it (like more energy, more strength, and a more toned body), it's not as necessary because you look forward to exercise and start looking for excuses to do it. Runner's high is real!

Don't overload yourself by trying to do too much. Eating healthy doesn't mean you have to eat a bed of lettuce with non fat dressing. If you're making a salad add nuts, seeds, avocados, and fruits to make them more tasty and satisfying. Same with working out, you don't have to run a half marathon every morning. Start with stretching and light jogging or walking in the morning and work your way up.
Some minor adjustments to your eating habits and exercising is probably all you need to lose those 15 pounds and you'll see that once you start eating healthier, you will feel a lot better too (more energy, better mood, etc).
Start by changing your diet habits and introducing a bit more activity to your daily routine. I can relate to the motivation thing. I wanted to get a bit fitter since I gave up smoking and put on a few pounds. I decided I was going to swim a couple of times a week. Sometimes I even walked the two miles there and the same back. The point is you don't have to go head first but decide you want to do it and make positive changes. You'll be motivated to see the results of your efforts and that should spur you on to do more and more. Also educate yourself about food, just because you're eating healthy there's no reason why it should taste bad.
There are too many fat role models around, like Oprah. If they were banned, as they should be, and someone fit installed as a female role model, life would be better all around, and you'd have more motivation.

Well first off, if all you need to lose is 15 pounds, your not a fatass. Some of the people I've trained needed to lose 15 pounds in each leg. As for you being lazy, that in itself answers the question as to why you can't get motivated :) you have to want it, more than you want to watch tv, play video games, drink... Whatever it is that keeps you from working out. The fact is, until its a priority to you, nothing will change. No ones answer on here will magically answer that for you.
It might be because you're staying a lot of time inside your house, or you don't follow your dietary program properly.
If you can't keep yourself motivated, think of all the possible consequences that might occur if you don't lose weight. Like no guy would be hitting on you again, you can't fit in your sexy dresses, or you will never get married.I go to the gym 6 days a week and there are definitely days where I don't feel motivated. There are days that I feel like I want to just stop jogging and go home. There are days I feel like crying, but I push myself because I have a goal and I'm determined to reach it.
Working out, going to the gym, changing eating habits, is not easy for Everyone. You just have to want it badly enough and be so determined that you do it even when you are not 100% motivated.Try reading encouraging stories that might help motivate you into working out consistently. link
You don't want to lose it bad enough. When you do, then you will.
I quit smoking about 7 months ago. I gained about 30. It isn't easy you just do not need to diet. Just be more active and be smarter with how you eat every day.
