How often have you dated someone who was a good match with your preferences for an ideal companion?

Kristen Bell is a fairly close match to the physical characteristics I would list for my "ideal" woman. However, in my entire life, I have only dated three girls who bore any resemblance at all to this ideal. I have been attracted to many other women who were not petite blondes with a cute face and smaller features. I have dated women who were in my life, who were attractive, who were kind and pleasant, and I had many satisfactory experiences with those women who weren't ideal, but they were great in their own ways.

So how often have you dated someone who actually fit the specifications for your ideal partner?

I am not asking about whether they eventually proved to be ideal companions. I'm just asking about matching your criteria for physical appearance and those superficial qualities that are immediately obvious.

I had girlfriends from the time I was 16. All of them were good people, very attractive, and had the kind of figures that I prefer.

It wasn't until I was 36 that I asked a particular girl out to dinner. We got along really well. It turned out that she was 30 years old. 5'2"; gorgeous figure and lovely legs. Perfect, petite, delicate hands and feet. I don't know her measurements, but I would guess 35", 24", 34" ish. You know it's odd.. it may just be an anomaly, but considering all my relationships, the women who were very attractive vs those with average looks tended to work out far better and were much healthier. I thought if I would be willing to settle on looks, I might get someone better in other areas more condusive to a long term successful relationship. In the end I think the only differentiator was their level of self confidence. Whether they needed constant external validation whether thought their in person interactions, or social media use.

My ideal partner is in regards to the character she is like. Like most women check the bueaty standard.

So I am picky with character. Relgious but not to religous, gets my humour and mature enoigh understand certain topics. Attracted to me (Lol this is probably the biggest cutoff) curious about me.

TLDR = So ideal partner is someone who finds me ideal.

My Ideal companion has nothing to do with looks. Clearly I must find something physically attractive about them but it boils down to personality and dependability.

Now what's my Physical type? I don't exactly have a "type". I am very flexible. I am a sucker for unique eyes or lighter eyes. I love curls. I like light hair but even that may be blonde, red, greying or white. But I have enjoyed dark hair when combined with curls or dark hair combined with a lovely complexion or light or unique eyes. Yet that's not to say I never dated anyone with brown eyes. I certainly have. I have dated people of many physical shapes fit average skinny muscular over weight or a dad bod. I've dated people of all heights but usually everyone has been taller than me because Im so short lol 😆.

I can't pin point exactly what I would consider my exact type. Not even my not my type of people is consistent... Unless we go by gender. A woman would AUTOMATICALLY be not my type.

I have only recently met someone who fit my ideal type by about 90% which is the highest I ever had. He wants me too. But we cannot be together because he is already taken. The force of the attraction is very strong and I think I fit his type just as well. We both know. But he don't want to hurt his partner. It is the most heartbreaking thing I have experienced because I am conflicted and so into him. The fact that my type could like me back like this was very eye opening and that is what hurts. I have finally met my ideal and he cannot be mine.

you told on yourself by saying you are conflicted which suggests you too have a partner but you do not care about hurting him. If the guy has any brains, he would see this and instantly see you as someone not to be taken serously

What's so amazing is that relationships are like snowflakes. You never really love the same way twice. I've never been lucky enough to meet a nice girl who was even close to an ideal companion.

I think what it is, people want to make such a good impression, they pretend to be something they're not. I've been with so many girls that were great to get a long with at first and pretended to care about me, but once they were with me long enough o get comfortable, their true colors showed.

I've been with so many cheaters and liars, I could write a book! Makes me kind of wonder if love actually does exist. I'm not picky either. If I had a girl who just respected me and plus, if I had a girl that I could talk to about anything with, I'd be happy!

Other than requiring she not be obese, my preferences are more along the lines of hygiene and presentation, not specific body type, or height, or eye, skin, or hair color, so I think every lady I've ever dated has been within my "ideal" as it is.

I don't really know if I have overarching physical preferences like you described. I prefer small boobs and a somewhat slim body, but they're not exactly hard to find. I can find girls with radically different facial features and such equally attractive for different reasons. So I rarely date, but I wouldn't date people who aren't my preference

Could have been more if I hadn't been with my sons dad for 15 years and now been with my husband today for 9 years. So I've been off the market for a while. I was just speaking from my experience.

@turnpost Looks are subjective. But it's all about looks, personality, and values. A caring, empathetic, fun , active, love nature and everything in it. And has a vegan diet. Amongst other things that are less important. So finding that exact type, haven't meet one yet around here.
