My ex is ignoring my texts...why?

My ex and I chat everyday but also send texts to each other on a daily basis. There are times though, when he ignores my texts. I sent him one last night and it was a nice one and I did ask him how he was and what he was up too, as it is usually what he asks me, but I heard nothing back from him. The other night he did the same thing, ignored my texts. He expects me tell him everything that's going on in my life and yet I cannot do the same with him?! It feels to me like he has more rights to know about me than I have about him. Sometimes it is an effort to keep the conversation going when we chat online, I seem to do most of the talking.

When we were together, there was never a problem communicating, he would always respond to my texts and always be chatty online and now its like he is on a different planet and conversation is intermittent.

How do I get him to stop ignoring my texts?

Thank you for your replies. Much appreciated. He did text me later this afternoon and said he was mowing the lawn, clipping the hedge and having an ice cream, he sent some smileys after that and then asked me how I was. I have not replied to him.

I don't think I will do so, I think I will let him stew for a while. But honestly I don't like having to do this kind of thing. I just want it to be normal

I have still not replied to him. He has not text me, even out of curiosity or care, just that one he sent in the later afternoon yesterday. I think I might send him a text later today. Normally I go online to a messenger and he sees me there

(he always appears offline) and he says hello to me and chats for a bit, sometimes for an hour we chat or less but he usually has to go out or do something so he goes. I am trying now to go before he does. Yesterday, I didn't go online to messenger

Oh just to add, I won't be going online to messenger, as that will make him avoid having to text me!

Well, he isn't your boyfriend anymore, so maybe he's busy, tired, with another girl, on a date, etc. or maybe he's just chillin with his boys. Just wait until he texts you. He most likely will, and if he doesn't, then that's a sign that he doesn't want to talk to you. I'm sure he will text you though. In the meantime, surround yourself with things to keep you busy so that you don't notice when he doesn't text you.

This happen to me before with my last boyfriend. Just don't keep texting him every day he might get annoyed. Just wait until he text you and trust me he would because he will start to miss you (;

Make him text you sometimes don't even text him back or you coul always move on and then he will get curious an come running back!

I know but it is weird, he wanted us, just as much as I did want, to remain friends. So I just don't get it.

Its like your holding onto the fact that you'll get back together. I wanna get back with my ex, but not while she's the way she is. I think your better off just cutting off all contact

Thanks for your replies. I've not heard from him yet and although I said I would not go online, I did but he is not there. So I don't know what is happening. It is all strange and it is weirdly quiet.. We were friends before we went out and remained so after the break up. I doubt he would use me as a backup, I don't think he thinks that way.

He text me back about a half an hour after I sent him a second text just asking if he got my text.. He said he was good, that he got a bit of a headache, that he was round the relatives at a bbq and he was glad I was feeling good. That's all but it took him a jolly long time to text me to tell me anything. I really don't know what to think

I don't think I am needy or clingy at all. I just want a normal friendship with him as I do with my other friends. I have no probs with them texting etc. It is just him. I did ring him last night and we had a chat. He did say something like, he thinks about me that's why he texts me! I thought that was a bit daft thing for him to say.

You cant, if he doesn't want to you can't make him because he is your ex for a reason he could be busy with someone else before he comes back to you...hes got you on layby...

sorry but he's probably with another girl my ex did the same thing then I caught him with another girl like leave him alone for a while then he will start getting curious
